I am not sure that teaching vocabulary to toddlers is that big of a feat. They pretty much soak up the words around them. That being said, there may be a small amount of merit to using robots in education. There is the "wow" factor that will capture some students attention for a short time. They could also be helpful as a resource, providing spelling of difficult words, definitions or even sounding out words for students. If Robots could be used to handle chores such as attendance, lunch count etc, that could provide teachers with more teaching time. However, kids are pretty smart and it won't take them too long to figure out ways around the robot. I don't know that a robot would be capable of maintaining discipline for very long.
